For businesses
Joining isn't a score or a certification. It's a commitment to look honestly at the seven stakeholder relationships every transaction touches — and to keep improving them.
Read this before you start. It's the whole basis of being listed, and the application asks you to act on it.
"We acknowledge that every business transaction affects an ecosystem larger than the buyer and seller. We recognize shareholders, customers, employees, suppliers, communities, the environment, and future generations as stakeholders in the value we create. We commit to transparency, measurement, learning, and continuous improvement across these stakeholder relationships over time."
You don't need good answers to all seven. Nobody has them. We'd rather list a business that says "we haven't measured this yet" than one that writes something impressive it can't back up.
Progress over perfection. Transparency over proclamation.
We read the application and check the basics — that the business is real, the website matches, and someone answers.
We may come back with questions. Most applications need one round.
If we list you, we build your profile and send it to you to approve before it goes public.
If we don't, we'll tell you why. You're welcome to reapply.
The application takes around 20 minutes, mostly on the stakeholder questions. It saves as you go, so you can leave and come back.
The shortest step. We create your application record here so nothing after this gets lost.
Not shown publicly. We use it to verify the entity and catch duplicate listings.
What customers know you as. This is what appears in the marketplace.

This is what people search and filter on, so plain words beat clever ones.
Pick the closest fit. If nothing fits, tell us in the notes at the end and we'll consider adding it.
Shown on your card in the directory. Say what you do, not why you're great.

One per line, at least three. These feed search directly, so use the words a customer would.
This decides who finds you, and which referrals actually reach you.
Cities or metros, comma separated. Example: Houston, Katy, Sugar Land, The Woodlands
This is the most important thing you'll write. Someone reads it and thinks of a specific person. Describe the situation, not the demographic.
Good: "Homeowners who are remodeling or moving into a new build. If someone mentions bare windows or a room they can't use in the summer, that's us."
Less useful: "Anyone who needs window coverings."

The heart of the application. Answer the ones you can speak to honestly and leave the rest blank — blanks are shown on your profile as blanks, which is the point.
"We haven't measured this yet" is a real answer, and a better one than something you can't back up. You only need one to apply.
0 of 7 documented
Was sustainable economic value created for the owners or investors of the business?
Did the customer receive meaningful value in exchange for what they paid?
Did the transaction support jobs, compensation, opportunity, development, or meaningful work?
Did other businesses and partners benefit from participating in the value chain?
Did the transaction positively contribute to the surrounding community?
What environmental resources were used, protected, restored, or improved?
Is the company creating something that leaves people and society better positioned over the long term?

The question that tells us most. A business that can't name a gap usually hasn't looked.

These two answers are part of your application. We'll ask you before publishing anything you write here.
You've just answered the stakeholder questions, so you know what this means now. That's why we ask here rather than at the start.
Left until near the end on purpose — finding a logo file is where applications tend to stall, and you've done the hard part already.
Square or wide, at least 400px, PNG or SVG with a transparent background. If you skip it we'll use your initials until you send one.
No file chosen — your card will use initials.
Can be different from your public address. This is what actually matters — a lead sent to an inbox nobody watches is a lead lost.
Including a category you wish we had.
Here's how your card would look in the directory, and everything you've told us.

Thanks — we'll read it properly and come back to you.
